Each guide is made for a way of listening, and tells you which. Some are built for the site itself: the Grand Palace package is written to be walked, room by room, with the thing in front of you. Others are made for anywhere — Before You Land is designed for the flight over, and The Air-Conditioned Cosmos works on a downtown walk or nowhere near one. All of them hold up long after the trip, because a good story survives the journey home.

Why does a Bangkok mega-mall feel strangely like a temple fair? Because in a very real sense it is one. This six-track series — now in production — follows the city's oldest idea, that a capital should mirror the cosmos, from the Golden Mount to the marble concourses of IconSiam. It is a history of modern Bangkok told through its most spectacular interiors: sacred mountains, boulevards of revolution, a shrine born of a hotel, and the air-conditioned paradises where the whole city now gathers. The guides are then produced with studio-grade narration, not recycled city-tour boilerplate.
Do I need to be at the site to listen?
It depends on the guide, and each one tells you what it is made for. The Grand Palace package is written to be walked on site, guiding you through the complex itself. Others — Before You Land, The Air-Conditioned Cosmos — are made to work anywhere: a plane, a train, your sofa. And nothing stops you enjoying any of them from home.
How much do the guides cost?
Before You Land is free in every library. Each place package — the Grand Palace, Chiang Mai Origin Myths, and future releases — is a small one-time purchase in the app. There are no subscriptions, and purchases are yours for good.
