Privacy Policy

Siam Curated is a travel and cultural service for Thailand, provided through the Siam Curated iOS app by Matthew Phillips, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom, who is the data controller for the personal data described here. This website is informational; all purchases take place in the app. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights — plainly.

What information we collect

• Account details — your email address and first name, provided when you create an account in the app. Sign-in uses a one-time emailed code; we never see or store a password.
• Your itineraries and preferences — the trips and plans you create in the app, so it can save and display them to you.
• AI assistant messages — messages you send to the AI travel assistant are processed to generate a response. We use them to provide the feature, not to profile you.
• Purchase records — app purchases are processed entirely by Apple through your Apple ID. We receive confirmation of the purchase (product and transaction reference) so we can unlock your content. We never see your card details.
• Contact messages — if you email us or use the website contact form.

We do not collect any information beyond what is necessary to provide the service. We do not run advertising, and neither the website nor the app uses third-party advertising or tracking SDKs. The app does not request your location and does not send push notifications.

How we use your information

• To create your account and sign you in
• To build and save your itineraries and deliver your audio guides
• To provide AI assistant responses
• To unlock your purchases and prevent fraudulent ones
• To respond when you contact us

We will never sell your personal information. We do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent.

Who helps us provide the service

• Apple — payment processing for all purchases, under Apple’s own terms and privacy policy
• Supabase — app database and account hosting (European Union — Ireland)
• Anthropic Claude — processes AI assistant messages to generate responses (United States)
• Resend — transactional email delivery: sign-in codes and account emails (United States)
• Netlify — website hosting

Where data is transferred outside the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses implemented by these providers.

Data retention and deleting your account

We keep your account data for as long as you have an account. You can delete your account at any time from within the app: open the Account tab, choose “Delete account”, and confirm with the code we email you. Deletion is permanent and immediate: your profile, itineraries and sign-in records are erased. Purchase transaction records are retained in anonymised form (with the link to your identity removed) for financial record-keeping. Content bought through the App Store remains associated with your Apple ID under Apple’s terms.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, contact us at the address below. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Cookies

Our website uses a single cookie to remember your currency preference between visits. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party analytics. The app does not use cookies.

Children

Siam Curated is a travel service intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated by email or flagged in the app. The date at the top of this page indicates when it was last updated.
